January 5 Council Meeting

The next meeting of the Watershed Council will be Thursday, January 5th from 11am to 1:30pm, at the Bell Arts Factory. Please feel free to bring your lunch to the meeting. We will get a special presentation on the progress of giant reed removal and restoration efforts in the watershed, an update on the septic special study, and much more.

$3 Million for Matilija Dam Removal Project Designs

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife announced the award of $40 million for ecosystem and watershed restoration projects under its Proposition 1 Restoration Grant Programs. The County of Ventura will receive $3,300,504 for the Matilija Dam Removal 65 Percent Design Planning Project. You can view the full announcement and complete list of projects to be funded here.
