Get Involved


There is no shortage of ways to get involved in local efforts to benefit the watershed. Below is a list of some opportunities.

Watershed Management Plan Volunteers are needed to help with various aspects of development of the Ventura River Watershed Management Plan, such as research, writing, photo acquisition, GIS map development, website updating, and data organization. Contact: 805/649-2251 x 122 or

StreamTeam StreamTeam is a program of Santa Barbara Channelkeeper. Volunteers are needed to help with regular water quality monitoring. More info: Contact: 805/648-4005 or

Surfrider Volunteers work on a variety of watershed stewardship projects, such as the Ocean-Friendly Garden campaign, and watershed outreach and education. More info: Contact: 805/667-2222 or

Ojai Valley Land Conservancy Volunteers work as docents on the conservancy’s preserves, help with habitat restoration projects and preserve maintenance, and assist with office work, event coordination, and many other tasks. More info: Contact: 805/649-6852 or

Ojai Valley Green Coalition Volunteers are needed to help with the restoration of Ojai Creek (in Libbey Park), educational outreach in schools, greywater and low impact development workshops, green building and energy education, garden planting parties and organic farming. More info:
