The next meeting of the Watershed Council will be this Thursday, January 7th from 9am to 11:30am, in the Topping Room of the EP Foster Library, 651 E. Main Street.

Agenda highlights: We will hear about Proposition 1 stormwater grant funding and the Ventura Countywide Stormwater Quality Management Program Stormwater Resource Planning from Arne Anselm. We will also have time to hear from you about the great work you are doing and planning in each of our Watershed Management Plan Campaigns.

The Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network (CoCoRaHS) is a unique, non-profit, community-based network of volunteers of all ages and backgrounds working together to measure and map precipitation (rain, hail and snow).   By using low-cost measurement tools, stressing training and education, and utilizing an interactive Web-site, our aim is to provide the highest quality data for natural resource, education and research applications. We are now in all fifty states.

Final Guidelines and Solicitation Workshops for Storm Water Resource Funding

The State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) approved the Prop 1 SWGP Guidelines and the Storm Water Resource Plan Guidelines at the December 15, 2015 Board Meeting.  The Prop 1 SWGP Guidelines and Plan Guidelines are available online at: www.waterboards.ca.gov/swgp.  Also included on the website is the Self-Certification form for the Storm Water Resource Plans.

Solicitation Workshops are being offered for the Prop 1 SWGP planning and Round 1 implementation grants.  Seating is limited at each location; therefore, you must RSVP by January 20, 2016 to secure a spot.  Seats will be available for the first 50 people who RSVP.  For those attending the WebEx workshop, instructions will be sent via e-mail through our Lyris e-mail account.
