May 8 Watershed Council Meeting
The Ventura River Watershed Council will meet on Thursday, May 8, 2014, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, in the Topping Room of the Foster Library, 651 E. Main Street.

At the meeting the Council will hear short presentations from organizations that are interested in applying for drought funding through the Proposition 84 IRWM (Integrated Regional Water Management) Drought Emergency Funding for projects located in the Ventura River watershed.

The Council will need to decide which of the proposed projects they recommend to go forward for consideration by the Watersheds Coalition of Ventura County for the countywide grant application. (See my April 11, 2014 email for background on the drought funding program.)

At the meeting the Council will also review a draft of the Ventura River watershed section of the Ventura County Integrated Regional Water Management Plan update.

A meeting agenda will be sent out next week.

Prop 84 Grant Funding

If you are considering applying for the Proposition 84 Drought Emergency Funding, it is recommended that you first preview the affectionately named “Scared Straight” presentation that was given by Kristine McCaffrey at recent meeting in the county on the topic.
