Dec. 11 Watershed Council Meeting – Special 2015 Planning Meeting

The next meeting of the Ventura River Watershed Council will be on Thursday, December 11, 2014, from 8:30 to 11:00 am, in the Topping Room of the Foster Library, 651 E. Main Street.

This is a special focused meeting on the topic of administration of the Council in 2015. With significantly less funding to work with, the Council needs to lay out a strategy for Council administration in 2015. This could involve changes to the Leadership Committee’s structure and more administrative contributions from members.

We’ll also get a presentation from a nonprofit, the Energy Coalition, about opportunities to advance energy and water use efficiency in the watershed. One of their keystone programs, The Energy Network, provides public agencies with no cost, high quality engineering services to help identify, prioritize and execute energy efficiency projects. Coalition representatives will explain how their organization is now working in the energy-water nexus realm, and how they would like to be able to help advance energy efficiency, renewable energy, and water conservation projects in the watershed. http://energycoalition.org/energy-architects-in-action/

Here is the agenda, which includes a summary of the 2015 funding pledges and a proposed 2015 work plan for the watershed coordinator.
