In response to your requests, I’ve added a Photo Gallery to the Watershed Council’s website. The gallery features many of the photos used in the recently completed Ventura River Watershed Management Plan. I’ve got lots more photos and so do you; we can add more photos over time. If you use photos from the gallery, please credit the photographer, whose name is included in the photo title. Thanks again to everyone who contributed photos.

July 7 County of Ventura General Plan Update Public Workshop
The County of Ventura will be updating its General Plan soon, and has recently been going through a process to determine the scope of that update. The next step in this process is a public workshop, to be held on July 7, 2015. This event also serves as a joint study session between the County Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission. See the County’s invitation to this workshop below, along with summaries of the input they received from recent community meetings and interviews.

Invitation from the Ventura County Planning Division:

All Ventura County stakeholders are invited to attend the Joint Study Session & Public Workshop scheduled for July 7th to discuss recent findings related to the General Plan Update Work Program. During the study session and workshop, findings from the Work Program Options Report will be shared with the County’s citizens, Supervisors, Planning Commissioners and other stakeholders.

This joint study session and public workshop is scheduled to occur at the County Government Center on July 7th 2015 at 1:30 PM in the Board of Supervisors’ Hearing Room. In hosting the Joint Study Session & Public Workshop, the County hopes to move forward in creating a vision and guiding principles for the General Plan Update.

In the past few months, the public, Ventura County staff and officials, and numerous community groups have participated in the initial tasks to create a Ventura County General Plan Update scope of work, budget, and timeline through a series of meetings, stakeholder interviews, and public workshops. Those who are interested in reviewing the results of the County’s public outreach efforts are encouraged to visit the Ventura County Planning Division’s General Plan Update webpage or access the outreach results in the Community Input Summary and Stakeholder Interview Summary.

The County of Ventura looks forward to an enthusiastic turn out on July 7th and encourages both individuals and groups to share this announcement with community members who are interested in learning about the General Plan Update process and providing their input.
