May 21 Leadership Committee Meeting to Review Charter
The Council’s Leadership Committee will meet on Tuesday, May 21, from 10:30 am – noon, at the EP Foster Library Topping Room, 651 E. Main St., in Ventura. Anyone interested is be welcome to attend.

The primary purpose of the meeting is the annual review of our governance charter. There is at least one recommendation to modify language in the charter, related to our decision making process. We’ll also be reviewing the Leadership Committee membership.

Here is the latest charter, with the proposed changes thus far.

If you have any other suggested changes to the charter or the Leadership Committee membership, please get those to me as soon as possible or come to the meeting to discuss.

Another issue the Leadership Committee will be considering is some minor changes to our Watershed Management Plan objectives. These came up because not all of our proposed projects and programs fit within our current objectives, or at least their value is not adequately addressed by the objectives. For example, the current objectives do not speak well to protecting what we’ve already got – the language is more about “improving.” Whether it is water quality or water distribution infrastructure or trails – we also want to protect what we already have. The attached document summarizes those proposed changes. Here are the proposed objectives changes.
