May 23 Watersheds Coalition of Ventura County
Biannual General Membership Meeting

If you’d like to understand how the Ventura River Watershed Council fits into the larger, countywide watershed planning effort – the Watersheds Coalition of Ventura County (WCVC) – then plan to attend tomorrow’s biannual WCVC General Membership meeting. The Watershed’s Coalition is the group that develops and updates the Integrated Regional Water Management (IRWM) Plan for the county, which among other things qualifies our region for state proposition funding.

The meeting will be held from 9:00 a.m. – noon at the County of Ventura’s Saticoy Operations Yard, 11251 Riverbank, Building B, in Saticoy.

Presentations will be provided about each of the county’s three watersheds, as well as WCVC’s accomplishments. State Department of Water Resources staff will give an update about the IRWM grant program, and two neighboring IRWM Regions (Greater Los Angeles and the Upper Santa Clara River Watershed) will also provide updates as part of an ongoing effort to share information and promote ongoing dialogue and collaboration. Action will also be taken on several items related to the WCVC IRWM Plan Update and WCVC administration.

Here is the agenda and the map/directions.
